• MIS100 Foundations of Information Systems — how organisations use information systems strategically to solve problems, make decisions and stay competitive, spanning hardware, software, data and emerging technologies, alongside artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, privacy and professional ethics.
• MIS300 Systems Analysis and Design — the techniques a systems analyst uses to design information systems that advance organisational goals: analysing and defining requirements, modelling process and data, and transforming user requirements into system design using UML, with an emphasis on user centricity.
• IND201A Industry Engagement Project — a work-integrated consultancy project run with external clients through the university’s Social Enterprise Hub, building employability skills and team contribution to social and business outcomes, and carrying 100 hours of credit towards industry practicum requirements.

Postgraduate subjects

• MIS610 Advanced Professional Practice — industry-led preparation for careers in information systems: professional roles and ethics in a global context, culture, governance, and legal and compliance obligations including GDPR, alongside aligning strategy and change management to business priorities and communicating with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• MIS611 Information Systems Capstone — a work-integrated capstone in which student teams deliver a prototype solution for a client organisation, working through the Stanford design thinking cycle from discovery and empathy mapping to ideation, prototyping and testing, and communicating progress and outcomes to stakeholders and non-specialists.
