Loh hei yee sang
Celebratory Malaysian Chinese New Year dish

After serving an apprenticeship under Sharon Wong, and then Adeline Lamond, I finally feel brave enough to make my own yee sang. Adeline gave me some of her “secret” sauce, and I used the following ingredients:
- lime
- spring onion
- coriander
- red cabbage
- daikon
- carrot
- green apple
- mandarin
- smoked salmon
- crispy noodles
- roasted sesame
- pickled ginger
- pickled vegetables
Recipe for sauce (slowly heat and blend in pot):
- Five parts plum sauce (Ayam brand)
- 1 part apricot jam
- Lime juice
Yumm - this might need to be a regular item on the menu!
