Day trip to Newcastle via the Intercity. This is us catching the T1 from Chatswood, then waiting at Hornsby Station.

Fantastic day out at Newcastle. Took the Light Rail to Newcastle Beach, had lunch at Moor Newcastle East, then slowly walked along the foreshore until we reached back at the Interchange, just in time for the train home.

I’ve traveled on scenic train journeys around the world, but it a real surprise that the train journey from Sydney to Newcastle is actually quite good - reminds me of some the journeys I’ve been in Japan. Here are some captivating photos taken on the journey during sunset.
