98 Merrigang St, BOWRAL
A low maintenance, Mediterranean gravel garden, complete with beautiful mature Olive trees from a grove in QLD. They seem to have settled in, sprouting fresh young leaves during a very dry winter. The pond is a restyled concrete cattle trough that Sam managed to cut down in height with an angle grinder making it ideal for the new pink water lilies, fish and ceramic fountain.
Out the back they have plum and orange trees and a garden full of ‘Grey’ leafed plants, lambs ears, Forget-me-knots, pink Valerium, Gelder Rose, hedges, Oak tree and metal workshop and studio.
Onward to the back of the garden is a track through the Silver Birch grove planted with their children for their various Birthdays over the years. Seventy-five trees in total underplanted with succulents and snowdrop bulbs. To the left is the rose garden and veggie patch of rhubarb, strawberries, tomatoes and artichokes.
Last is the chookyard and fence, an area to mulch down all the garden waste and cuttings. The chooks are very happy until a pesky fox comes in and takes the lot even in broad daylight!
